Preparing the next generation of television professionals since 2006
Core-maple was founded with a straightforward purpose: to bridge the gap between aspiring television professionals and the demanding realities of the broadcast industry. Our founders, themselves veterans of Australian television production, recognised that traditional media education often fell short of preparing graduates for the pace and pressure of real studio environments.
What began as a modest camera operation workshop in 2006 has grown into a comprehensive training centre offering programmes across the full spectrum of television careers. We maintain deliberately small class sizes, ensuring each student receives meaningful mentorship and substantial hands-on practice time.
Our philosophy centres on practical competence. We believe that technical skills must be developed through repetition and real-world simulation, not merely theoretical instruction. Every programme we offer reflects this commitment, with studio time constituting the majority of each curriculum.
Unlike academic programmes that emphasise theory, our approach prioritises doing. From day one, students operate professional equipment, participate in simulated broadcasts, and receive feedback from instructors who still work in the industry.

Broadcast Studios
Located in Melbourne's media precinct, our training centre spans 1,200 square metres across two floors. The facility houses multiple broadcast-standard studios, each configured to replicate conditions found in working television production environments.
Our main studio accommodates full news desk setups, interview configurations, and standing presentation formats. Adjacent control rooms allow students to rotate between on-camera roles and technical positions, developing an understanding of how all elements of a production work together.
Editing suites are equipped with current industry software and sufficient workstations to ensure students have adequate individual practice time. Our technical staff maintain all equipment to professional standards, and we refresh our camera inventory regularly to keep pace with technological advances.
